Grant Stapon is a long term partner of the Bennett Jones LLP law firm. He began practicing law in Alberta in 1979, and has been External Legal Counsel to the Calgary Police Service since 1981. Grant served under seven Chiefs of Police, and has at various times acted for the Edmonton Police Service, the Lethbridge Police Service, the Medicine Hat Police Service, the Blood Tribal Police Service and Police Commissions throughout the Province
Grant is a strong supporter of the Calgary Police Service and has worked with the organization to help the CPS establish some of the best relations in North America between a city police service and the community which it serves.
Over the years, Grant also served on boards and volunteered for many charitable organizations, and has undertaken substantial pro-bono work for those organizations. He is proud to be a founding member of the Calgary Police Youth Foundation, and to be a strong supporter of its community based charitable initiatives.
